Fox News Host Says All ‘Legacy Media’ Has to Do is ‘Repost’ Press Releases From Trump White House
Fox News’s Emily Compagno said that “legacy media” should simply repost President Donald Trump’s press releases when covering his presidency.
On Monday’s episode of Outnumbered, the panel discussed the way Trump has been criticized — by both the media and the Democratic Party — for his rapid-fire Executive Orders and other legislative decisions. Within Trump’s first two weeks, he signed 54 Executive Orders. It was the highest number of Executive Orders signed within a president’s first 100 days since Harry Truman signed 57.
While many of them simply undid former President Joe Biden’s orders, there have also been a number of wholly original orders — such as one declaring the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America,” and another banning transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.
The segment noted CNN’s Kaitlan Collins recently saying it was hard to keep up with the “nonstop” news. For those struggling to keep up and looking for clear explanations from the Trump administration, Compagno suggested that instead of asking for clarification, outlets should just repost press releases that describe “exactly what they’re doing.”
“The current president’s goal is to serve the American people,” Compagno said, “to run an efficient, bloat-less government that actually serves the American people in their time of need, and to ensure prosperity.”
“And the fact that the media can’t keep up A) doesn’t matter because we’re not looking to them for the news anyway; and B) guess what President Trump is doing? His office of comms is directly emailing and putting it out on Truth Social, and putting it on the websites — every day, all day — all exactly what they’re doing. So all you have to do, legacy media, is simply repeat, retweet, repost; and that’s the news and that’s the facts,” added Compagno.
