Fox News’ Lawrence Jones Flat-Out Tells Democratic Congressman, ‘Nobody’s Listening to You’
Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones laid into Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) during a tense back-and-forth about the favorability of the Democratic Party, at one point informing the lawmaker, “nobody’s listening to you.”
Khanna, one of few Democratic pols to consistently appear on the right-leaning network, was brought on to respond to recent claims by former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) that the Democratic Party is “toxic,” as well as “weak and woke.”
When asked if he agreed with those comments, Khanna called Emanuel, a potential 2028 White House contender, “dead wrong.”
As Khanna went on to defend the party, Jones brought up the use of pronouns and suggested voters are turned off because they feel “lectured” by Democrats.
When Khanna tried to defend his own record and brought up the Democrats’ plan to rejuvenate the economy, Jones delivered a scathing rebuke.
“You guys in the Democrat house have the lowest approval rating ever,” Jones said. “So, I hear these plans and proposals. You guys are always great about that, releasing documents, doing analysis, and all that — but no one’s listening to you.”

LAWRENCE JONES: So Democratic former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel calling out his party as he appears to be considering a 2028 presidential run. The Wall Street Journal saying: “He calls the party brand toxic and weak and woke.” To culture war issues, he thinks Democrats have become often too fixated on, that President Trump has successfully used against them.” Democratic California Congressman Ro Khanna joins us now. So, congressman, thanks so much for joining the program. One thing they always appreciate about is you’re always willing to talk to the other side. But is Rahm Emanuel right here? Has your party become too woke? Too non-masculine and not talking with people about the things that matter?
RO KHANNA: No, he’s is dead wrong. Look, this is the party of FDR. We did originally make in America. We industrialized the entire country. It’s the party that has guaranteed Americans Medicare, social security, Medicaid, I’m calling for new economic patriotism so we become a manufacturing super power so we have high-paying jobs and build wealth in every community and have a Marshall Plan for America. The history of the Democratic Party is it’s a great party.
JONES: Yeah but the problem is, congressman, before you can get on this and some voters may like that. But they don’t hear any of that because they feel lectured by the party. All these pronouns. No one cares about that.
KHANNA: Well, look, I’m totally opposed to canceling people for saying the wrong word or telling a joke. I have been one of the biggest defenders of free speech. But when you go to places like Lorain, Ohio, or Johnstown, Pennsylvania, what they are talking about is how are we going to get good paying jobs? how are we going to get a new factory? How are we going to get our kids new economic opportunity? And the Democrats have a plan. What it will take is investment there, what its going to take is helping finance new factories, buying things from people who make things in America. There is a group in the house, they are called Economic Patriots. It’s with Chris Deluzio in Western Pennsylvania. That’s what Democrats are talking about. I believe that a new economic patriotism can win back people across this country.
JONES: Yeah, but congressman, no one is listening to that. You guys in the Democrat house have the lowest approval rating ever. So, I hear these plans and proposals. You guys are always great about that, releasing documents, doing analysis and all that — but no one’s listening to you.
KHANNA: Well, look, we may not be making headway in the mainstream beltway, but what I believe is we have got to get out into the community. I spend more of my time in places like Johnstown, Milwaukee, places that have been deindustrialized. And here’s the reality: Just having blanket tariffs aren’t going to bring back the factories. We know what will. We gotta got make investments there, we’ve gotta invest in the workforce, we’ve gotta create apprenticeships, we’ve gotta help people who don’t have a college degree. And we can deliver. We did with the semiconductor industry.
Later in the interview, Lawrence challenged Khanna on his previous support of former President Joe Biden, asking if he had any regrets about past comments that the ex-commander in chief was mentally sharp.
Khanna admitted it was a “mistake” to back Biden for a second term.
