Fox News’ Outnumbered Panel Blasts President For Affair
And now for a really shocking development: Fox News’s Outnumbered slammed a president for having an affair with a younger woman.
But before you get too excited, they were covering Bill Clinton’s 1990s affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
The ladies on Outnumbered held a discussion today about an interview the former president recently gave where he shrugged off Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for saying he should’ve resigned over the Lewinsky scandal. Former Trump deputy campaign manager David Bossie was today’s #OneLuckyGuy, but instead of talking about his former boss’ history of sordid affairs and the sexual assault allegations against him, Bossie made sure to argue that “it was a despicable thing for [Clinton] to have an affair with an intern and then lie about it.”
The conversation stayed laser-focused on Clinton’s misbehavior and how the #MeToo movement shows the re-defined standards of what is and isn’t appropriate. To be fair, Marie Harf at one point tried to bring up the sexual misconduct allegations against Trump, but the panel ignored her to focus on the misconduct committed by the likes of Clinton, Al Franken and Harvey Weinstein.
At one point in the discussion, Harf opined that Gillibrand didn’t actually plan on saying Clinton should’ve resigned, and that she might’ve been answering questions at the time by saying what would’ve been considered correct or “politically advantageous.” Melissa Francis felt the move was more calculated than that, saying Gillibrand didn’t need the Clintons to support her anymore, so she decided to throw them under the bus and score points in the #MeToo phenomenon.
