Fox News’ Shep Smith Does Not Like Wisconsin Protests Compared to Egypt
In a conversation with John Bussey, assistant managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, Fox’s Shepard Smith made it clear he is no fan of comparisons between the uprising in Egypt and the protests that have centered on the statehouse in Wisconsin. “That’s not an equation we should be making around here. People died over there. Lots of them died. Good friends of ours were beaten and attacked and hospitalized.”
Fox News correspondent Greg Palkot and photographer Olaf Wiig were blindfolded, beaten and threatened with death while covering the uprising in Egypt. They were later released. The extent of the brutal attack on CBS correspondent Lara Logan has only now been fully detailed.
Estimates of the dead in the days leading up to the stepping down of Hosni Mubarak have been estimated–some say conservatively–at more than 300.
