Fox’s Bolling Likens Ebola to AIDS Outbreak, Guests Clash over Fearmongering

Fox News’ Eric Bolling took on concerns over a potential ebola outbreak on Cashin’ In today, and he ended up clashing with Juan Williams and Jonathan Hoenig over just how freaked out Americans should be about this. Bolling also drew a parallel between ebola and the AIDS outbreak of decades ago, remarking that ebola has “almost the same type of transmission as AIDS.”

Bolling had to side with Donald Trump‘s concerns about bringing Americans infected with ebola to the United States. He cited the CDC saying that ebola coming to the United States is “inevitable” (though they did also say, “we are confident that there will not be a large Ebola outbreak in the US.”)

Hoenig and Williams, however, weren’t nearly as concerned. Hoenig remarked “it’s not like these people are waltzing into Starbucks,” while Williams said that people like Trump are “spreading fear and panic and a lot of paranoia.”

Hoenig insisted there’s “no discernible risk” from bringing those two Americans to be treated in the United States, and remarked that it’s “pretty outrageous” to compare ebola to AIDS.
