Fox’s Brian Kilmeade Mocks Newark Mayor’s ICE Protest Arrest as ‘Publicity’ Stunt
Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade mocked Democratic Mayor of Newark Ras Baraka’s arrest at an ICE detention center protest as a bid for “publicity” ahead of his bid to become the next governor of New Jersey.
Baraka was arrested last week and charged with trespassing after attending a protest outside the Delaney Hall immigration detention center, where he joined several members of Congress to demonstrate against President Donald Trump’s deportation policies.
The mayor blasted federal prosecutors on Thursday and accused them of trying to “humiliate and degrade” him after he was ordered to provide fingerprints and a mugshot for the second time in connection with a trespassing charge.
As Fox & Friends reviewed the story, Kilmeade knocked any hysteria over Baraka’s arrest while blasting Democrats’ insistence that deportees be given due process:
He is running for governor. No one cares. This gets him some publicity. It’s going to be fascinating. And I know, in the Constitution, George Washington, our Founding Fathers definitely wanted to make sure illegal criminals, murderers and rapists got their rights, especially when they don’t deserve them. But they’re living in fine facilities. Best of luck.
