Fox’s Karl Rove Says Harris Team Wants to Ice Biden Out of the Campaign: ‘Highly Unlikely We’re Gonna See Much of Him’

Fox News contributor Karl Rove argued that Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign is eager to sideline President Joe Biden during a segment on Tuesday morning, submitting that it’s “highly unlikely” that Biden spends much time on the campaign trail over the next two months.

Rove’s analysis followed a question from anchor Dana Perino’s about Harris’s “balancing act.”

“Here’s Politico, the headline is: ‘Harris Puts Her Biden Balancing Act on Display in Pennsylvania. Kamala Harris doesn’t want Joe Biden’s baggage. But she’s also counting on him to help her win the election,'” said Perino. “How do you manage that?”

“Well, look, I think this was- I think the article was a little bit off,” began Rove. “If I were the Harris campaign, I’d say we got to get him out there, so that he- his feelings are not hurt. He can help us maybe in Pennsylvania because that’s where he grew up. But let’s get it done and get it out of the way so that we can say we’ve done it.”

“I think they wanted to get it done on Labor Day, give the president a chance to be on the campaign trail. I think it is highly unlikely that we’re going to see much of him, if any, future appearances on the campaign trail,” he concluded.

Biden appeared with Harris at a rally in Pittsburgh on Labor Day after enjoying an extended vacation following his speech on the first day of the Democratic National Convention.

The president remains an notably unpopular incumbent, with his approval rating underwater by double digits, according to polling aggregator 538. Biden was forced to drop his reelection bid by Democratic Party leaders following his disastrous performance during his debate with Donald Trump in June, and he immediately endorsed Harris to replace him.
