Geraldo Thinks ‘McCain Kicked Jay Carney’s Ass’ on CNN
The verdict is in on the CNN shootout between Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and newly anointed cable news talking head Jay Carney: Carney had his ass handed to him.
That’s according to Fox News’s Geraldo Rivera, if that counts for anything.
“Sen. McCain kicked Jay Carney’s ass Thursday,” wrote on Twitter Friday (though the clash between the parties actually took place Wednesday, after President Barack Obama‘s speech on the Islamic terrorist network ISIS).
Carney and McCain battled over the details on Obama’s approach to the Middle East, including his winding down of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and its affect on the rise of ISIS.
“Entertaining but woulda/coulda/shoulda is irrelevant,” Geraldo continued in his tweet. “Sole focus must be what we do now vs ISIS.”
In Obama’s speech, he pledged that the U.S. would “degrade and destroy ISIS” but he called on support from Congress to arm rebels in Syria, where many ISIS members are located.
