‘Get Over Yourself!’ Hillary Clinton Chides Undecided 2024 Voters to Jimmy Fallon

Hillary Clinton — former Secretary of State, former U.S. Senator from New York, former First Lady, and former presidential candidate — appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday to promote her new role: Broadway producer. But naturally, she was asked about the 2024 election.

After host Jimmy Fallon brought up the subject of the upcoming presidential election, Clinton groaned, expressing her deep desire to continue talking about the Easter Bunny instead. But Clinton really didn’t have an excuse because she was there to promote the Broadway musical Suffs, which was about the Suffragettes, which is a musical about the importance of voting. Gotcha, Hillary!

Fallon: I mean, it’s [President Joe Biden] versus [former President Donald Trump]. We know that.

Clinton: Yes. It is. It is.

Fallon: What do you say to voters who are upset that those are the two choices?

Clinton: “Get over yourself, those are the two choices.”

Fallon: Yeah. I love that!

Clinton: You know, it’s kind of like, one is old and effective and compassionate, has a heart, and really cares about people, and one is old and has been charged with 91 felonies. I don’t understand why this is even a hard choice. Really. I don’t understand it. But we have to go through the election and hopefully people will realize what’s at stake because it’s an existential question. What kind of country we’re going to have, what kind of democracy we’re going to have. And people who blow that off are not paying attention, because it’s not like Trump, his enablers, his empowers, his allies are not telling us what they want to do. I mean, they’re pretty clear about what kind of country they want.

Fallon: Get out there and vote.

Clinton: Get out there. This is a that’s what this is really about. Get out there and vote.

Which provided a perfect segue into talking about Suffs! So not a “gotcha” as much as a good setup, but also a fun way to get Hillary Clinton to deliver a blunt indication that she is really not interested in being a politician anymore.
