Gloria Steinem: Rush Limbaugh to Blame for Making Feminism a ‘Bad Word’
Feminist icon Gloria Steinem today blamed Rush Limbaugh for making “feminism” into a “bad word” that people think they have to run from.
If you’ve ever listened to Rush Limbaugh or are at least somewhat aware of him, you know that he has used the term “feminazis,” which is actually defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as “an extreme or militant feminist.”
On CBS This Morning today, Steinem was talking about her new book and her long life, and Norah O’Donnell asked Steinem about Meryl Streep recently saying she’s a “humanist,” not a feminist.
Steinem wasn’t too bothered by that, though she did go on to say, “The word ‘feminism’ has been turned into a bad word by Rush Limbaugh, who talks about feminazis every day.”
