GOP Rep. Calls Mitt Romney a ‘Self-Serving Egomaniac’
A Republican member of Congress working closely with the Donald Trump transition team had some harsh words for Mitt Romney this morning.
New York’s Chris Collins was the first sitting member of Congress to endorse Trump. He served as co-chair of Trump’s House Leadership Committee and is currently serving as the transition team’s congressional liaison.
And in the big Trumpworld spat over whether to make Mitt Romney Secretary of State, Collins made it clear on CNN’s New Day he’s very much against it:
Co-chair of Trump's House Leadership Committee @RepChrisCollins: Mitt Romney is a self-serving egomaniac. https://t.co/Qfo5iRak3I

“I know that he is a self-serving egomaniac who puts himself first, who has a chip on his shoulder, that thinks he should be President of the United States…. I’ve called him a loser for the past six months.”
Chris Cuomo asked him why, then, Trump would be considering someone like Romney for his Cabinet.
Collins, while continuing to express his concerns about how big a “lone wolf” Romney is, said he would support the decision if Trump went with him.
