GOP Senator Accuses the Biden Administration of Wanting to ‘Keep This Pandemic Going’

Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) accused Joe Biden of wanting to “keep this pandemic going” as he bashed the president’s “lockdown mindset.”

In an interview on Monday with Fox Business’ Elizabeth MacDonald, Cramer was asked for his thoughts on Governor Ron DeSantis’ (R-FL) retort to Biden’s warning that the country could go back into lockdown because of the coronavirus. Cramer agreed with DeSantis’ statements, adding “I am perplexed by this administration’s desire to keep this pandemic going.”

“We spent the last year plus trying to get rid of the pandemic. These guys seem to be elongating it,” he continued. “People want to get out and do things they do in the summertime. Governor DeDantis knows far better than anybody in Washington, D.C. whether Florida is ready to be open. I trust his judgment and I hope people get on airplanes to go to Florida. I know I’m going to.”

Cramer went on by claiming Biden “wants to ruin” the economy with higher taxes and stopping governors from reopening their states. He also claimed Biden was being overly influenced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“This lockdown mindset in Washington, D.C., should not be spread throughout the rest of the country,” Cramer said. “Hopefully the rest of the country can have a greater influence on affairs of Washington, D.C.”
