House Dem Says Elon Musk, DOGE Have Access To Much More Than Government Data: ‘They Know When You Have a Colonoscopy!’

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) raised the alarm Saturday about Elon Musk and DOGE’s access to sensitive federal government data – which she said included individual private medical information.

Per the Michigan Democrat, Musk and his team at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency have access to information such as colonoscopy appointments.

Dingell joined MSNBC’s Ali Velshi and Michael Steele on Saturday, where she said Musk and President Donald Trump were overreaching in their work to root out waste and fraud.

“Last week when they put the freeze in every Meals on Wheels program across the country, you have a freeze in Head Start programs with daycare, where everyday people in programs they take for granted didn’t work,” Dingell said. ” Now, it’s still not clear what really happened. There are a lot of people working and looking at these cases. And, yes, Congress would be looking at that.”

The House Democrat predicted more courts would rule Musk does not have any legal standing while attempting to shrink the size of the government on behalf of Trump.  She also said Musk and DOGE staffers were in possession of more than government records:

I don’t think people understand what kind of data they’re getting. They know when people have a colonoscopy! That’s not somebody else’s business. So, I think everybody is putting everything on the table. And I think it’s really important that every member of Congress understand how their district is being impacted. There are people out there, advocating and educating, and telling those members how scared they are, and holding those members to account. Mine are. I’ve done nothing but meet with people for the last — when I leave here, I have seven speakers in the next two and half hours meeting with people.

Musk’s DOGE has been on a mission to cut trillions in government funding and has thus far pushed for entire agencies and waves of federal employees to be disbanded.

On Saturday, a federal judge blocked DOGE’s access to personal data held by the Treasury Department, including bank accounts and Social Security numbers, and ordered that any information collected so far be destroyed.

A hearing is set for Feb. 14 to determine the legality of Musk’s access to such information.
