Huckabee Dismisses GOP Senator Criticizing Trump as a ‘Globalist’
Senator Jeff Flake has a new book out called Conscience of a Conservative sharply criticizing President Trump and his own party for not speaking out against him more. Today Mike Huckabee defended the President from the “globalists.”
While promoting his book, Flake has been rather vocal about the direction of the GOP and conservatism under Trump, saying, ““To be conservative can’t be to embrace conspiracy theories, or to talk about alternative facts.”
Huckabee, appearing on Fox News this morning, responded by saying, “The problem is you’ve got globalists like Jeff Flake who are in total disarray with real conservatives.”
“Conservatives,” he continued, “want America to be strong. They’re not interested in being globalists and just melting into this great big international economy.”
Huckabee concluded that “it’s not a problem of the President, it’s a problem of some of these Republicans who don’t even know what [conservatism] means.”
