‘Inappropriate’: MSNBC Anchor Confronts Trump Surrogate Over Clinton Blackface Cartoon
Donald Trump surrogate Pastor Mark Burns called into MSNBC this afternoon and was immediately grilled for 9 minutes by Kristen Welker over this tweet:
Black Americans, THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOTES and letting me use you again..See you again in 4 years. pic.twitter.com/c4BOc6Tgkt
— Pastor Mark Burns (@pastormarkburns) August 29, 2016
Welker asked Burns if that’s “inappropriate.” Burns insisted that he’s tired of how Democrats like Hillary Clinton “tap dance for the black vote” and then ignore those voters for the next four years.
He called the cartoon satire and said that Democratic policies just aren’t working for African-Americans.
But Welker kept confronting him on whether that image is appropriate from someone speaking on behalf of a presidential candidate. Burns ended up going on a rant about “the political PC game.”
And towards the end of the segment, Burns attempted to make a point about Trump’s unifying message by asking Welker where her ancestors are from.
