Jake Tapper Confronts Kudlow on Trump’s Amazon Attacks: He’s ‘Bad-Mouthing’ a Private Company!
CNN’s Jake Tapper pressed new Trump economic advisor Larry Kudlow about President Trump‘s continued attacks on Amazon.
Tapper said, “[He’s] accusing them of bankrupting the U.S. Postal Service. It’s not accurate, but it is true that they pay a lower rate in postage, as do all… bulk users.”
He brought up Amazon’s stock drop and told Kudlow, “You’re a believer in free markets. I can’t imagine that you support a president––any president of the United States––singling out an American company and just bad-mouthing it for weeks while its stock goes down.”
Kudlow reiterated what he’s said before about a “level playing field,” but Tapper asked him, “You support this President bad-mouthing a private company?”
“It’s not so much bad-mouthing a company, Jake,” Kudlow said, “it’s let’s have a level playing field for all the new internet retailing that’s going on. The industry’s changing fundamentally… you should pay taxes in whatever jurisdiction you’re operating.”
