Joe Miller Explains Why He Is Suing Alaskan Electoral Board Over Write-In Ballot Count

Joe Miller has a perfectly good reason as to why people who attempted to vote for Lisa Murkowski shouldn’t have their votes counted: Because that’s just how it’s done in Alaska. Miller went on Fox News today to discuss his lawsuit, which seeks to discount the ballots of voters who accidentally wrote “Lisa Merkowski” instead of “Joe Miller.”

Miller pointed us toward history, saying that previous write-in voters have had to suffer the same strict standards that he seeks to impose upon voters trying to re-elect Senator Murkowski. He also cited the “hundreds of thousands of dollars” that Murkowski spent on her aggressive “Hey, this is how you spell my name” campaign as proof that she knew what she was getting into.

“Look,” Miller explains, “the legislature enacted a law. The legislators themselves were elected by Alaskans. That law needs to be followed.” With all that legislative research, no wonder Miller hasn’t had time to shave!
