John Kerry: Trump Should Resign
John Kerry replied succinctly when asked what his message to President Donald Trump would be if they were face to face: “Resign.”
Speaking at a CNBC panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the former secretary of state was asked what his message to Trump would be if the president were sitting opposite him.
“I can’t play that,” Kerry demurred. “Because he doesn’t take any of this seriously. He doesn’t have an ability to have that kind of conversation.”
“What would your message be?” Kerry’s interviewer persisted.
“Resign,” Kerry replied.
Trump is not in Davos this year, his trip with a U.S. delegation cancelled in light of the government shutdown. He railed against the media for coverage of the cancelled trip on Twitter.
“Last time I went to Davos, the Fake News said I should not go there,” he wrote. “This year, because of the Shutdown, I decided not to go, and the Fake News said I should be there. The fact is that the people understand the media better than the media understands them!”
