Kanye West Wears Jesus Mask As He Shuts Down ‘Bullsh*t’ 2021 Deposition Hearing: ‘Are You Stupid?!’

A viral video of rapper Kanye West wearing a silver mask and shutting down his own 2021 deposition hearing after a combative 10 minutes has resurfaced as part of a new one-hour TV special featuring high-profile figures under intense legal scrutiny.

The footage, teased ahead of its December 26 debut on A&E’s Interrogation Raw: Celebrity Under Oath, reveals the rapper-turned-designer’s startling behavior as he fought a $10 million lawsuit accusing him of misappropriating AI technology.

In the clip, West appeared from a remote location wearing a cap that read “Rooted in Ignorance” and pointedly refused to put down his phone. He retorted: “Due to my mental geniusness in order to focus on this bullshit, I need to be on a phone.”

When his attorney, Ekwan Rhowe, urges him to comply, West briefly complies, only to pull a silver perforated hood decorated with an image of Jesus Christ over his head.

Opposing counsel, Michael Popok of MyChannel, Inc., presses for an explanation: “Mr. West, why have you donned a mask to start this deposition?”

West replied: “Because you don’t have the right to see my face.”

Throughout the session, West’s erratic demeanor intensified. When asked about his whereabouts, the rapper lashed out: “Are you stupid?! I’m not going to tell you all the things… You are talking to the richest black person in the history of America!”

Shortly after this outburst, West abruptly shuts his laptop, ending the deposition just 10 minutes in.

The legal team for the tech startup eventually requested $62,725 in sanctions, though the case concluded three months later with a confidential settlement and a “joint stipulation of dismissal.”
