Keith Olbermann And Current TV Reportedly Reach Settlement In $50 Million Lawsuit
On Tuesday, Keith Olbermann and his former employer Current TV have reportedly settled their $50 million lawsuit out of court, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The progressive cable news vet sued Current TV for $50 million after the network fired him in April 2012. He claimed that he was improperly fired from the network without cause just one year into his five-year, $50 million contract. He alleged that Current’s co-founders Al Gore and Joel Hyatt went out of their way to speak poorly of him in the press.
The progressive cable outlet countersued, arguing that Olbermann’s allegations were “false and malicious.”
According to the THR’s sources, however, Olbermann will receive a “significant payout from Current” of an undisclosed amount.
