LA Times Exec Editor: ‘Media Is Really President Trump’s Cocaine’
During CNN’s Reliable Sources this morning, one guest made a very… direct point about President Donald Trump‘s obsession with the media.
Brian Stelter brought up yet another over-the-top comment from the President attacking the media as supposedly sounding “almost treasonous” in its coverage of his North Korea negotiations.
LA Times executive editor Norman Pearlstine told Stelter, “This is typical Trump hyperbole and you just have to recognize that he says things that are more outrageous than anyone has ever said before and it’s just part of his schtick.”
Stelter asked if this kind of thing hurts reporters in the field.
Pearlstine said it certainly does, but added, “Media is really President Trump’s cocaine. He cannot exist without it.”
