Larry King: Trump’s Not Racist, He Just ‘Plays to That Crowd’
TV icon Larry King has known Donald Trump for a long, long time, and he said on MSNBC this afternoon he doesn’t consider the GOP frontrunner to be a racist.
King sat down with Steve Kornacki and said over the course of the last few decades, Trump has pretty consistently been an “East Coast Republican.” Kornacki asked him about whether Trump’s recent rhetoric about minority groups is reflective of the Trump he knew.
King said he can “partially” recognize Trump in all that rhetoric, and expressed his personal amazement at just how far he’s come in this race.
After affirming that Trump is the same guy on- and off-camera, King told Kornacki, “He is really a good guy. He’s not a racist guy… He’s not, he plays to that crowd.”
