Laura Ingraham Teases Trump-Epstein Story Up ‘Next’ – And Never Mentions It Again
Fox News host Laura Ingraham teased “new news” being reported by The Wall Street Journal on her show, but she never mentioned it again.
Shortly before The Ingraham Angle aired on Thursday, the Journal published a report stating that President Donald Trump sent Jeffrey Epstein a letter in 2003 for the latter’s 50th birthday. It contained a drawing of a naked woman and a bizarre imaginary dialogue between the two men. Trump has denied the report and is threatening to sue the paper.
About 24 minutes into her show, Ingraham bid adieu to a guest and noted that the Journal had published new reporting.
“And coming up, Democrats pretend to care about an issue that has the podcast world going crazy,” she said. “We’re asking for transparency. But we have new news coming on about this as well from The Wall Street Journal, a new report tonight next.”
When the host returned from break, there was no “new news” to speak of. Rather, she criticized Democrats for being fixated on the dead sex trafficker and whatever files the government has related to his case. She never mentioned the Journal or Epstein again on Thursday’s show.
Fox News did not respond to a request for comment.
It was quite the turnaround for Ingraham in just a matter of days. Last week, the Department of Justice sparked an uproar on the right after it concluded that Epstein did not have a client list. Many MAGA faithful hoped that Trump would publicly reveal the Epstein files and criminally implicate rich and powerful people. At a gathering of conservatives in Florida last week, Ingraham asked the audience if they were “satisfied” with the DOJ’s handling of the case. No one in the crowd said they were, and many booed the Trump administration.
The president has made clear he does not appreciate coverage and questions about Epstein, a former associate of his. Trump has scoffed at calls for transparency, stating that the Epstein case is “boring” and that “only pretty bad people, including fake news, wanna keep something like that going.”
