‘Learn To Read’: AOC Fires Back at Trump Border Czar Who Threatened Her With ‘Trouble’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had some terse but pointed words for border czar Tom Homan.

Homan has been a near-constant presence on cable news since President Donald Trump named him to the post. Thursday night was no exception, as he appeared on The Ingraham Angle on Fox News. Laura Ingraham noted that Ocasio-Cortez posted a webinar explaining the rights migrants’s rights and how they might be able to avoid being deported. The host said AOC was showing migrants “how to game the system.”

“And I sent an email today to the deputy attorney general,” Homan replied. “At what level is that impedement [sic]? Is that impedement [sic]? I’m not an attorney, I’m not a prosecutor. Is that impedement [sic]? Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts? And if so, what are we gonna do about it? Is she crossing the line? So, I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out. Where is that line that they cross? So, maybe AOC’s gonna be in trouble now.”

Shortly after Homan’s appearance, the congresswoman responded on Blue Sky.

“MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw,” she said, quoting him. “Maybe he can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start.”

It wasn’t the first time Homan suggested an elected Democrat could face serious consequences. Last week, he threatened the governor of New Jersey with jail for “concealing an illegal alien.”
