Libyan News Anchor Brandishes Gun As Warning To Rebels Entering Tripoli

Well this is something you don’t see everyday. A news presenter for the pro-Gaddafi state run al-Libiyah channel in Libya showed support for the embattled dictator by brandishing a pistol and averring her embattled leader Muammar Gaddafi. The anchor is Hala Misrati, who earned international attention in April when she denounced a woman who had claimed to have been raped by pro-Gaddafi army members, calling her a “liar” and suggesting she was a “whore.”

During the brief moment shown below, Misrati shows a firearm and says:

“You will not take al-Libiyah channel. You won’t take Jamahiriyah channel, Shababiyah channel, Tripoli or all of Libya, and even those without a weapon are willing to be a shield in order to protect their colleagues at this channel. We are willing to become martyrs.”
