Megyn Kelly Defends Matt Lauer: ‘You Can’t Win’ with Liberal Media

Megyn Kelly defended her friend Matt Lauer over the overwhelmingly negative blowback he got for his handling of last night’s presidential forum.

She said that “you can’t win” with the “left-wing press” because they will not accept anything less than “kill[ing] Trump.”

Howard Kurtz said Lauer did a “solid job” and said a lot of the liberal media criticism is of the belief that Lauer “should have smashed him to smithereens.”

Kelly recalled the blowback she got for her big Trump sitdown and said Lauer certainly made a lot of news, which would be the goal.

However, the biggest criticisms of Lauer from the media involved him not calling out Trump for not being honest about his Iraq war position.

That was a criticism that both Kelly and Kurtz agreed with.
