Mika Brzezinski On Trump’s ‘Mean’ Birther Crusade: ‘This Promotes Hate’

The Morning Joe crew was having a good laugh over Donald Trump‘s latest media appearance with Bill O’Reilly as he continued to promote his claims about President Obama’s birth certificate. However, after a few minutes, co-host Mika Brzezinski had heard enough and told everyone what she truly thought and how no one on the panel had the “guts” to say what she was about to say.

Brzezinski’s view on Trump’s fascination with the birth certificate:

“I don’t like this, because I think this promotes hate and this brings us back and I thought we had gotten past this. I really do, and I don’t care how serious he feels about it, there are more important things we need to be talking about. He had a chance. Everybody wanted to hear what he had to say, because of exactly where we are in this country. And people were beginning to look at him and I’m sorry this is a bad call.”

While Brzezinski took the issue very seriously, others still found it enjoyable. Pat Buchanan argues the media has to keep covering the birth certificate issue if Trump keeps talking about. And Joe Scarborough jokes that anyone who believes Obama was not born in America must strangely also believe that in order for birth announcements to have been placed way back when in the Hawaiian newspaper, that the The Adjustment Bureau from the recent Matt Damon movie might be a real thing.
