Mika Brzezinski’s Dad Cancels Morning Joe Appearance, Rest of Panel Laughs

Mika Brzezinski had hoped to bring her father, renowned foreign policy expert and former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, to Morning Joe to discuss the latest developments in the Ukraine Euromaidan riots, only to be informed that he canceled on her at the last minute.

This led to a solid round of mockery from the rest of her Morning Joe panelists, including Andrea Mitchell, who pointed out to a surprised Mika that her father was on the The Daily Rundown earlier that week.

It seems to be a sore point for Mika that she can’t get her own father on her own show to share his Eastern Europe expertise, Joe Scarborough pointed out. “Your mom send you e-mails for attacking you for not having your father on the show,” he said, “and then your father won’t come on the show and talk to us.”

Apparently, Mr. Brzezinski’s been overloaded with interview requests. “I think he’s on SpongeBob right now,” Scarborough added.
