MSNBC’s Deadline: White House #1 In Time Slot On Friday, Anderson Cooper Finishes Third at 9 PM

 

On Friday, Fox News and MSNBC split a ratings win in the 8 PM – 11 PM primetime slot, with MSNBC pulling in the most viewers in the key 25-54 demographic while Fox News led in total viewers. Meanwhile, MSNBC’s 4 PM program, Deadline: White House, topped its time slot in both overall viewership and the demo.

For the primetime hours, Fox News averaged 2.507 million total viewers and 442,000 in the demographic. MSNBC pulled in a total audience 2.408 million and nabbed 483,000 in the demo. CNN finished third in both metrics, capturing an overall viewership of 968,000 and 285,000 25-54 viewers.

For total day, Fox News came out on top in both overall audience (1.475 million) and the demo (295,000). MSNBC finished second in both measurements, averaging 1.245 million total viewers and 267,000 in the key demographic. CNN pulled in a total viewership of 724,000 and 213,000 demo viewers.

Deadline‘s 1.324 million total viewers and 249,000 demo audience ranked ahead of Fox News’ Your World with Neil Cavuto (1.143 total/205,000 demo) and CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper (811,000 total/223,000 demo). It should be noted that Fox’s Neil Cavuto was off last week and Charles Payne served as the subsitute host.

During the 9 PM hour, MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show not only topped the time slot but led all of cable news in total viewership (2.884 million) and demo audience (584,000). Fox News’ Hannity averaged 2.539 million total viewers and 446,000 in the demographic. CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 finished third in both metrics, pulling in an overall audience of 941,000 and 283,000 in the demo.
