Eric Bolling has parted ways with Newsmax.
The veteran television host, who helmed the conservative network’s 8 p.m. hour with The Balance, exited to pursue a “better work opportunity” according to a source familiar with the situation. They declined to reveal his next step.
Newsmax said in a statement to Mediaite it had “mutually agreed” to part ways with Bolling. Rotating hosts will take over the 8 p.m. hour until a “new program is announced this summer, the network said.
“Newsmax wishes Eric Bolling well in his future endeavors,” Newsmax said. “The network looks forward to an exciting periods this election season which will include our nightly news coverage with Greta Van Susteren, Rob Schmitt, Greg Kelly and Chris Plante.”
Bolling also issued a statement to Mediaite: “All big news breaks on Friday right?? Why should this be any different? All jokes to the side, I want to thank my audience who has followed me from my days at the exchange to, CNBC, FBN and FNC, to Newsmax and now I can’t wait to tell them about where I am going to next. It’s a huge step for me and something I have always wanted to do, and I’ll be letting everyone know in the next couple of weeks.”
Bolling’s Newsmax show emerged as a destination for top Republicans like Donald Trump, RNC co-chair Lara Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and others. Pitched as a more Trump-friendly alternative to Fox News, the show also regularly took aim at Bolling’s former network. Before joining Newsmax in 2021, Bolling hosted a Sunday show for Sinclair Broadcast Group. He spent much of his career at Fox News, where he served as a host on The Five until his ouster in 2017.
Thursday night was Bolling’s last time on air at Newsmax.
