O’Reilly: ‘Jesus Would Not Have Sponsored’ ‘Insulting’ Muhammad Contest

Bill O’Reilly made it clear this week he doesn’t think it’s very helpful for anyone to be holding “Draw Muhammad” cartoon contests. And he doubled down tonight, saying that the free speech argument invoked by Pamela Geller and others is “bogus.”

O’Reilly said the real issue is “whether the exposition was the right thing to do.” And as far as he’s concerned, “Jesus would not have sponsored that event.”

He implored people to separate emotion from the equation, because “emotional displays like insulting the Prophet Muhammad make it more difficult to rally law-abiding Muslims” in the fight against radical jihadists.

Plenty of O’Reilly’s Fox colleagues are not on his side, but Greta Van Susteren and Geraldo Rivera have publicly expressed similar views.
