O’Reilly Laments Jake Tapper’s ‘Absolutely Asinine Analysis’ in Ferguson
Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly continued stomping on some of the news media’s coverage of Ferguson, MO, Monday, taking aim at CNN’s Jake Tapper.
O’Reilly wrote in his weekly column that some in the media have offered “absolutely asinine analysis” of unrest in the city, fingering a recent comment by Tapper, who said the local police response to protesters “doesn’t make any sense.”
From O’Reilly’s column:
Not surprisingly, the circus-like atmosphere in Ferguson has inspired some absolutely asinine analysis. Even CNN’s Jake Tapper, normally a fair and sound reporter, seemed convinced that he is a better police tactician than the police tacticians. Surveying the police presence in Ferguson, Sgt. Tapper concluded, “This doesn’t make any sense.”
O’Reilly took a brief reprieve from his own vacation this week to return to his show. He accused some in the news media of being irresponsible in their coverage of the fallout from the killing of 18-year-old black man Michael Brown, who was shot dead on Aug. 9 by a white police officer.
“Al Sharpton has the nerve to insult the American police community,” O’Reilly said on the show, “men and women risking their lives to protect us. This charlatan has the gall to do that and NBC News is paying him. My god, why is that acceptable?”
