O’Reilly’s Take on ‘Dumb’ Sofia Vergara Controversy: ‘It Was Satire, People!’

The social media reaction to Sofia Vergara‘s Emmy skit last night was swift and brutal, with cries of sexism. Vergara herself saw nothing wrong with the bit, and neither did Bill O’Reilly, who ended his show tonight by rolling his eyes at the ridiculous level of political correctness surrounding what was obviously a satirical display.

O’Reilly said the outrage was “dumb” and “foolish in the extreme.” He said that clearly Vergara was making fun of herself as a juxtaposition to the comments being made by the president of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences about giving audiences what they want.

He cried, “And even if you don’t think the bit was funny, it certainly wasn’t demeaning. It was satire, people!”

And what really blew O’Reilly’s mind is how harmless this piece was in contrast to the “trashy” fare Hollywood normally offers up on a regular basis.
