Pam Bondi Makes Bizarre Pitch to D.C. Residents Amid Trump’s Crackdown: ‘All New Grass!’
Attorney General Pam Bondi said President Donald Trump will make good on his pledge to replace the grass and sprinkler systems in parks across Washington, D.C.
On Thursday, Trump visited federal law enforcement officers and National Guard members he deployed in the nation’s capital, ostensibly to fight crime. At one point, the president went on a lengthy rant about grass in the District’s parks and how he plans to replace it, along with the sprinklers.
Hours later on Fox News’s Hannity, Bondi made Trump sound like a landscaper-in-chief.
“And he’s also gonna make America clean,” she said. “The president is so excited about fixing up D.C. All new grass, sprinkler systems, our monuments, getting rid of the graffiti! And that’s what people are loving. You only hear from the minority who are out there screaming and yelling that they don’t want this. But the people of D.C. are actually thanking our officers, all of our federal, state, and local officers when they are out there all night long fighting to keep America safe.”
Seventy-nine percent of D.C. residents oppose Trump’s surge in federal boots on the ground in their city.
While visiting federal agents and National Guard members, Trump digressed at length about grass, stating that he knows more about it “than anyone alive.”
“One of the things we are going to be redoing are your parks,” he said in part about grass. “I’m very good at grass, because I have a lot of golf courses all over the place. I know more about grass than any human being, I think, anywhere in the world. We are going to be re-grassing your parks, all brand new sprinkler systems, the best that you can buy. Just like Augusta. It will look like Augusta. It will look, more importantly, like Trump National Golf Club. That’s even better.”
