Pataki: Rand Paul ‘Putting Americans at Risk for a Political Reason’
Former New York Governor George Pataki is one of many GOP presidential candidates against Rand Paul on the NSA. Pataki spoke with CNN’s Jim Sciutto on State of the Union this morning about his views on surveillance matters.
Pataki, who was governor during the 9/11 attacks, said it’s completely wrong to have a “void in our security” at a time when, he believes, the U.S. is at “greater risk” than it has been in a long while.
As for Paul, who has become the face of the political movement to reign in the NSA’s surveillance power, Pataki completely disagreed with him and even said he’s “simply putting Americans at risk for a political reason.”
