‘Pathetic, Cringey and Painful’: The View Reams Trump’s Underlings Embarrassing Themselves to be His Running Mate
The View was far from impressed with Donald Trump’s henchmen rushing to debase themselves and toady up to him in the apparent hope of being considered as his 2024 running mate.
As the panel discussed the fallout from the Tuesday night New Hampshire primary vote, they strongly focused on Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) over his blatant sycophancy during Trump’s victory speech. Excoriating the “cringeworthy” display, Sunny Hostin said the former Nikki Haley ally was “in the sunken place,” and “you know he’s running for vice president.”
“He endorses Trump on a Friday and then gets engaged on a Saturday, and announces his engagement on a Sunday,” Hostin said. “It just screams ‘I want to be your vice president! I love you!'”
Alyssa Farah Griffin also called it “pathetic, cringey and painful” as she and the rest of her colleagues looped in the behaviors of Vivek Ramaswamy and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).
“They are racing to try and be his vice president. And by the way, I don’t actually think either of those two will be chosen.” Griffin said. “I know all these people… Every one of them privately knows Nikki Haley is more qualified, would be a better president, and they privately deride Donald Trump. But then publicly in front of the cameras, they’re terrified of him and care more about their careers and opportunities.”
The conversation went on with the panel arguing that the Republican Party sacrificed so many of the principles it claimed to have as it fell under Trump’s dominion.
