Paul Ryan: ‘Ridiculous’ To Work with Obama on Immigration When We Can’t Trust Him

paul ryanNewly-elected Speaker Paul Ryan did the full Ginsburg on the Sunday shows this morning, and he talked a lot about what he wants to get done in the Congress.

On Face the Nation, John Dickerson brought up how Ryan wants to deal with big issues head-on, and so brought up immigration reform, asking if that would be first on the docket.

Ryan said bluntly, “I think it would be a ridiculous notion to try and work on an issue like this with a president we simply cannot trust on this issue.”

He pointed out how Obama tried to “go it alone” with executive orders on immigration and said maybe it’s time for Republicans in Congress to take some “policy risks” because they have been too “timid” for too long.
