Priebus: Future GOP Debates Will Be ‘Reevaluated,’ CNBC’s Was a ‘Crap Sandwich’
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is still pretty “pissed off” about last night’s CNBC debate, and promised Sean Hannity tonight that every single future GOP debate will be “reevaluated and reset.”
Immediately after the debate last night, Priebus came out and bashed CNBC, saying they “should be ashamed” for asking such superficial and overtly provocative questions to the candidates. He told Hannity tonight CNBC gave him assurances the debate would stick to economic issues, but it ended up being “nothing but a crap sandwich.”
Hannity pressed Priebus on why the RNC is okay with liberal networks hosting Republican debates in the first place. Priebus gave assurances that CNBC wouldn’t get another debate and no future debate will be a repeat of last night’s.
He did take personal responsibility for how that went, despite blaming CNBC for how poorly the debate was handled.
There is some potential trouble brewing tonight for Priebus. First there was Mark Levin, a very popular and influential conservative radio host, demanding he be fired. And now there are reports tonight that Republican campaigns are coming together in a few days to discuss taking the debates out of RNC control.
