Rachel Maddow Beats Hannity For Second Night in a Row With Monster Ratings

Weirdly enough, Rachel Maddow can thank Sean Hannity‘s pal Michael Cohen for a ratings boon this week.
Cohen’s bombshell guilty plea, in which the lawyer implicated President Donald Trump in his felony violation of campaign finance laws, dropped on Tuesday. Simultaneously, former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was found guilty of eight unrelated felony counts, including bank fraud.
As a result, MSNBC’s Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell (who follows her in the 10 p.m. hour) were catapulted to sky-high ratings: Maddow pulled in 3.893 million total viewers and O’Donnell notched 3.339 million, to Hannity’s 3.259 million.
And Fox News host Hannity, who has established himself as the king of cable news ratings in the Trump era, fell behind Maddow yet again on Wednesday night.
Maddow bagged 3.568 million viewers to Hannity’s 3.136 million. O’Donnell fell to third with 2.653 million. In the coveted A25-54 demo, Maddow scored 707,000 viewers to Hannity’s 575,000. O’Donnell came third again, with 495,000 viewers in the demo.
We’ll see how long this lasts…
