Rand Paul Channels Parks and Rec’s Ron Swanson with Threat to Shoot Down Drone

Is Rand Paul the Ron Swanson of the crowded Republican presidential candidate field? The senator inadvertently channeled Nick Offerman’s libertarian-leaning Parks and Recreation character during what CNN is billing as the the first-ever Snapchat interview.
Asked about the legality of commercial drones, Paul said, “Drones should only be used according to the Constitution. But if they fly over my house, they better beware because I’ve got a shotgun.”
Last night on Parks and Recreation — spoiler alert! — Ron Swanson literally used a shotgun to shoot down a drone that was trying to deliver a package to his house.
“This is a flying robot I just shot out of the sky after it delivered a package to my house,” Swanson said, dropping the mangled piece of metal on the ground. “Somehow the robots looked at [his wife] Diane’s computer and learned something about my child and then brought him a box of presents, so I destroyed the robot. No one is safe from these bastards.”
Leslie Knope’s heart may belong to Joe Biden, but we have a feeling that Ron Swanson would be all about Rand Paul 2016.
