Reince Priebus Downplays Debate Drama: All Is Well
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus appeared on Good Morning America today to assure that they’re taking care of this debate debacle.
After last week’s CNBC debate, Republican campaigns got together to come up with a list of demands for future debates. Those demands include network commitments to things like no simple yes/no answers, no reaction shots of the audience or moderators, etc.
On GMA, George Stephanopoulos bluntly asked Priebus, “Have you lost control of the debate process?”
Priebus dismissed that concern and said he wants to make sure that everyone on the Republican side is on the same team so the RNC can “fight for what the candidates want.”
He did agree that after the “debacle” of a CNBC debate, the campaigns “should be more involved in the formatting.”
