Rep. Eric Swalwell: I Am Considering Presidential Run After Midterm Elections
Rep. Eric Swalwell isn’t just a frequent contributor on CNN, at 37 years of age, he is also the youngest member of Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives. At a time when Democratic leadership is viewed as remarkably old, the young telegenic candidate might be viewed by some as a good candidate to run for the highest office.
Well, at least we know of one person who thinks he might be a good candidate: Eric Swalwell.
During a morning hit on CNN, Poppy Harlow asked if the California-based congressman had been spending so much time in Iowa because he was running for president. Seemingly to her surprise, Swalwell admitted that, after the midterms, he is going to consider the run. ”
“Right now, I’m helping candidates who are stepping up to protect our health care, paychecks, and the democracy,” adding “I’m inspired by so many new candidates who are bursts of new energy, ideas, and leadership.”
Perhaps he saw the sort of attention that Adult Film actress attorney Michael Avenatti received for the time he spent in Iowa and thought to himself “if he can do it, why not me?”
