Roger Stone: ‘Donald Trump Cannot Be Managed,’ He’s His Own Strategist

Trump ally Roger Stone seems to think very little about the Stormy Daniels controversy.

Yesterday, President Trump broke his silence about the $130,000 payment that went to the porn star in order to keep her quiet about their alleged 2006 affair just days before the 2016 election. The president claimed he knew nothing about the payment and urged the press to ask his lawyer, Michael Cohen, about it.

Stone appeared on CNN Friday night and weighed in on numerous ongoing staffing changes within the Trump administration.

“Donald Trump cannot be managed, will not be managed,” Stone said. “He is his own manager. He is his own wordsmith. He is his own strategist and he’s damn good at it. And therefore, there’s got to be a high burnout rate of anyone who tries to get in the way of this man. He’s like Theodore Roosevelt in that sense.”

And when asked by Anderson Cooper about Trump’s recent comments on Stormy Daniels, Stone responded by saying he wasn’t “keeping up” with that news story except he will “believe the president’s version” of events.

“What amazes me about this whole controversy is that the American people don’t seem to care,” Stone continued. “The president’s approval is going up. I think many see this as an extraneous issue…. I just don’t think the American people care about this.”
