Sanders, Hillary Kick Off Democratic Debate by Brutally Attacking Each Other’s ‘Judgment’
Whatever niceties existed between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders before were completely shattered at the start of tonight’s CNN Democratic debate.
Sanders kicked things off by saying that while he considers Clinton to be qualified for the presidency, he has serious questions about her judgment, given her support for the Iraq war and her acceptance of special interest cash.
Clinton hit right back by bringing up Sanders’ pretty bad interview with the New York Daily News where he, Clinton said, had “problems answering questions about his core issue!”
She expressed some astonishment that he attacked her qualifications in the first place, saying that she was clearly qualified enough for the people of New York twice in a row and for President Obama to bring into his Cabinet.
Sanders shot back that Americans shouldn’t feel “confident” about a candidate who relies on big money as much as she does.
Clinton shot back by implicitly attacking President Obama for taking big money too and called it a “phony attack” full of “insinuations.”
