Scott Jennings Hypes ‘Nuclear Bomb’ Dropping on Dems Next Week

Pro-Trump CNN contributor Scott Jennings hyped a new book promising to expose the Democrats’ bid to cover up former President Joe Biden’s “decline” during the 2024 election, warning it’s a “nuclear bomb” the party will not be ready for.

The book in question, Original Sin, authored by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios politics reporter and network contributor Alex Thompson, is set for release on May 20.

The book teases an insider look at the behind-the-scenes party turmoil surrounding his decision to seek a second term and active “cover-up” of his ability to run, which the authors write led to a campaign of “gaslighting and denial.”

Reflecting on Biden’s appearance on The View Thursday, Jennings touted the book on CNN’s NewsNight:

I will just say watching him over the last few days reminded me that a whole bunch of people were telling us with a straight face that this man was capable of serving another four years as president. And that these appearances [are] coupled with what I understand is going to be the equivalent of a nuclear bomb dropped on the Democratic Party when Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book comes out next week.

I don’t know that the Democrats have fully internalized what’s about to happen to them between what he looks like today and what they’re about to report.

Jennings’ promo came after the authors explained how they’d spoken to everyone of influence “from White House staffers at the highest to lowest levels, to leaders of Congress and the Cabinet, from governors to donors and Hollywood players.”

Politico reported in March that Original Sin is the book “Biden allies fear most” and detailed how former aides were “shocked to read the ‘cover-up’ framing” by Tapper and Thompson, which they said “wasn’t used explicitly in some of the interviews facilitated by Biden handlers.”

“You won’t believe what we’ve found,” Thompson told Axios in February.
