Sean Hannity’s Migrant Crime Dunk on Newsom Derailed by Glitch During Live Speech
Fox News host Sean Hannity’s attempt to side-by-side a migrant crime montage alongside California Governor Gavin Newsom’s live speech feed on Tuesday night derailed when an unexpected glitch left audio echoing over itself.
As anti-ICE protests continue in Los Angeles, Newsom delivered a live address to double down on his criticism of President Donald Trump for deploying federal troops to the city. Despite Newsom’s objections, Trump responded to the wave of demonstrations by federalizing 4,000 California National Guard soldiers and deploying 700 Marines.
Late Tuesday, on Hannity, as Newsom delivered his address live, the host ran a running list of violent crimes committed by undocumented migrants alongside the feed, only for the ploy to be derailed by an audio glitch that cycled the California governor’s audio track over itself repeatedly.
The screen rolled for several seconds before the host called it quits.
“All right. We have apparently more audio problems and more of the feed problems with Gavin Newsom,” Hannity cut in.
Pivoting to commentary with Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), a guest on the show, Hannity continued to roll the list of crimes.
Hannity explained to Mullin how, in recent days, he’d clashed with Newsom in private and public over his stance: “It’s interesting because I scrolled the names of victims of violent crime. I’m scrolling it right now, in California, and in multiple private texts and publicly in my battle and my fight with him on X, because he had nothing better to do but to respond to both of us on X in every single case.”
Addressing Newsom, with the feed now cut, the host delivered his message with a blunt call out: “What about the people murdered Gavin? What about the people raped? What about the victims of violent crime? What about the big lie that they told us? The borders closed, the border secure? What about all of that, Gavin?”
“He never addresses any of these issues. He is not keeping law enforcement or the people in his state, the people in these sanctuary states and cities safe,” he added.
