Seth Meyers Honors Letterman by Recreating His Old Show Intro
Before creating his own late night franchise with The Late Show on CBS in 1993, David Letterman famously hosted NBC’s Late Night following the legendary Johnny Carson (and then Jay Leno for a bit). When Letterman left NBC, the show passed down to Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, and Seth Meyers.
So to properly honor the man who started the show, last night Meyers opened his show with a shot-for-shot recreation of Letterman’s old Late Night intro.
And perhaps the most sentimental part was when the V/O announcer said, “And now, a man who knows it’s Letterman’s show and he’s just borrowing it, Seth Meyers!”
