The White House called out CNN and MSNBC on Wednesday after both networks failed to air a speech by the mother of a woman who was murdered by an illegal immigrant.

While Fox News and Newsmax both aired Patty Morin’s speech about her daughter Rachel Morin – who was raped and murdered by illegal immigrant Victor Martinez-Hernandez in 2023 – Morin’s remarks were noticeably absent from CNN and MSNBC.

During Morin’s speech, MSNBC instead aired coverage of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) rally in Montana, along with an interview with Puck News chief political columnist John Heilemann. Meanwhile, CNN aired a panel discussion about California Gov. Gavin Newsom, along with a news segment on the NBA.

“SHAMEFUL that @CNN and @MSNBC refuses to take Angel Mom Patty Morin as she recounts the terrible tragedy of how an illegal killed her sweet daughter, Rachel,” protested White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung.

“CNN’s and MSNBC’s contempt for the victims of migrant crime is reprehensible,” wrote White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, while Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr accused NBC parent company Comcast of failing to “serve the public interest.”

Team Trump also called out NBC News, ABC News, and CBS News for failing to provide coverage of Morin’s case.

During her speech, Patty Morin tore into Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) for making a trip to El Salvador while refusing to acknowledge her daughter’s murder.

“To have a senator from Maryland who didn’t even acknowledge or barely acknowledged my daughter and the brutal death that she endured, leaving her five children without a mother and now a grandbaby without a grandmother, so that he can use my taxpayer money to fly to El Salvador to bring back someone that’s not even an American citizen,” said Morin. “Why does that person have more right than I do? Or my daughter, or my grandchildren? I don’t understand this.”
