Sky News Host Abruptly Cuts Off Interview After IDF Spokesperson Calls Him Out For Claiming There Is ‘No Power’ In Gaza
Sky News host Jonathan Samuels abruptly ended a segment with an Israeli Defense Force spokesperson after the guest dismissed rumors there is “no power” in Gaza.
IDF international spokesperson Doron Spielman joined Samuels on Saturday when he was confronted by the host for the lack of power inside Gaza. Samuels noted before his question started that Spielman would have to answer quickly because they were coming close to a commercial break.
The IDF plans to let civilians in Gaza know what areas will be targeted by airstrikes in the city, so they have time to leave the location and seek shelter. However, Samuels claimed civilians do not have power in the city to charge their phones and no have no wireless internet.
Spielman immediately dismissed these claims by pointing out that during the hostage transfer hundreds of civilians in Gaza could be seen filming with their mobile phones. Seconds later, Samuels abruptly cut to break, ending the interview.
SAMUELS: You’re telling people where is going to be targeted next. People don’t have power to power their mobile phones. They haven’t got wifi.
SPIELMAN: Well, I don’t know. I mean, I think you and all of your viewers saw our hostages being paraded through the streets as they were released to Israel over those seven nights and hundreds of Gazans holding their phones, videoing them. So clearly, there’s enough power to power their phones when they’re parading our hostages throughout Gaza. Now, that same power to their phones will be to get the maps, download the maps, look at the fliers. And don’t forget-
SAMUELS: Major Spielman I’m so sorry, we are out of time, but we appreciate your comments this evening.
