Stephen Colbert Introduces The ‘Countdown to Loving Mitt’ Clock, Coins A New Slogan For Romney
Stephen Colbert argued Wednesday night that Mitt Romney would electrify his audiences with a hot, new phrase that was sure to propel him to the nomination.
Colbert pointed out that Romney won Michigan, by “a whopping” 3.2%. “Now to those looking for a champion to defeat Obama, that seems a little weak but Mitt really charged us up!” Colbert exclaimed, then played a clip of the Republican hopeful delivering a curious catch phrase.
“We didn’t really win by a lot, but we won by enough,” Romney said, following his win in Michigan.
“Yes!” Colbert beamed. “There’s your battle cry! Romney, 2012. Enough!”

However, the conservative pundit quickly became “Mitt-bivalent,” and hoped the Republicans would find somebody — anybody — else!
“One week from now we will most likely come together and support the guy we’re hoping is not the guy!” Colbert riffed. “Jimmy? Start the “Countdown to Loving Mitt Clock! We now have six days, 23 hours and 59 minutes to find a replacement for this robotic plutocrat who couldn’t hold the attention of cats with a can of tuna!”
